Have you ever weighed yourself, stepped off the scale and stepped back on only to have it show a different weight? I doubt if I can lose 3 lbs by simply stepping off and on my scale. (Wouldn't it be great if you could?)
I have a history of weight issues - mostly with weight obsession. At my worst, I would weigh myself 20 to 30 times a day. I ended up throwing my scale away, (eventually we received our current scale as a gift). As Susan Powter would point out, the number on the scale is not important if you are healthy and your clothes fit the way you want.
So, now I have a faulty scale that varies 3-5 lbs. It doesn't seem to matter how many times a day I hop on it, I gained either 5 lbs to 10 lbs over the holidays.
I've decided today that I need to live what I know. The number doesn't matter. Tonight, I'm taking the battery out of that scale.

Ah...but I disagree. I think you should weigh yourself everyday - on a reliable scale, at the same time of day, probably first thing in the morning is best.
I use the scale daily to see if I am in my target weight range. I use it as a guide, as a tool. I use the number to help me make healthy eating decisions during that day or coming days. Maybe I hit it hard over the weekend, and I need to be a little more careful during the week. The numbers will show it (reliable scale).
I don't think you should be a slave to the scale, but you should track it regularly. Sure, you can tell when your clothes fit better, but getting on the scale regularly can help you keep from getting out of control, so you don't get the point where you are struggling to get in those jeans.
And, I bet, being at a weight where you feel really good, will help out with the "passion, strength, energy, lean and loving..."
Just my thoughts...

Both are interesting points of view. Because I have the tendency to be weight obsessive and I can't weight myself just once a day, I think I'm better off getting rid of the scale.
Thanks!
Cindi, for you, I agree. Weighing yourself 30 times a day versus not having a scale - Throw it out!
Stay warm this weekend!
