I don't think I have Restless Leg Syndrome, but boy have I been uncomfortable lately. Last night was the absolute worst. I just could not get comfortable and get to sleep. My legs felt "antsy."
This has been a growing problem over the past month or so, and I'm not quite sure why. When I'm sitting at my desk I frequently need to get up and walk around inside the building.
It might be I'm not walking enough. It might be that when I do walk, I push too hard. Maybe more stretching is required. It might have nothing to do with walking at all.
Regardless, it is annoying. In the meantime, I'm going to try to get a lot more casual walking in and see if the situation gets better.

I hope it's not RLS...but it could be. For many, the right amount of exercise -- and walking it good - keeps it at bay. So can avoiding alcohol, changing diet, massage, or ensuring your iron and ferritin levels are high enough (ferritin needs to be at least 50 for those with RLS). For those who suffer more frequently and severly, medications can help, too.
The criteria is pretty basic - the body part feel uncomfortable and "needs" to be moved, the movement makes this uncomfortableness go away, this "need to move" is worse when at rest, and is worse in the evening. Uncomfortable is described many ways - from antsy to painful to electrical to bugs/ants in the muscles.
If you need more pointers on it sometime in the future, www.rls.org is a great place to start. Hope you don't ever need it...but if you do, don't wait. No need to suffer with it.
Thank you for the info! I looked at the web site, and on the surface, it does look as if I have some of the symptoms. I'm going to start tracking when I get the "ansty" feelings and what leads up to them to see if I can find patterns. I'm hoping it is just from inconsistent work outs.
